Your settimana is an ochs und junior watch, designed by Ludwig Oechslin, with weekday indication based on a caliber ETA 2824-2 top grade. The days of the week are indicated with a dot which appears in a hole under the hour numbers 1-7. 1 is Monday and 7 Sunday. From 8 to 12, instead of the hole, there is a continuous opening in which the dot changes its position at about 11pm to 12pm in the night from Sunday to Monday morning.
Both time indication and day of the week are set by the outer position of the crown. The inner one would be for winding the watch when the mainspring is fully released after a longer period of not wearing the watch. Therefore, to set the watch to the day of the week, it may take several days of winding or advancing the watch on the outer crown position. For example, it would be midweek and thus the 3rd day of the week, but the display stopped on Sunday, then turning the weekday point forward over Monday and Tuesday to Wednesday is the shorter distance to set the watch to the day of the week than turning it backward over Saturday, Friday and Thursday to Wednesday.
