Every detail of your personal ochs und junior can be customized to your precise specifications!
You can test out initial ideas with our online customizer tools. These tools allow you to print your watch concepts at 1:1 size, cut them out with scissors, and compare them on your wrist.
However, far more is possible than with the tools. You can also contact cofounder Beat Weinmann and work 1:1 with him on a design which goes beyond what is possible in the customizer tools. For example, the beautiful moon phase watch in this blog post!
For this moon phase watch, the customer had a unique concept. He wanted the full moon on his wrist to glow at night, which meant using a light-colored Super-LumiNova paint. However he also wanted the moon not to be perfectly smooth and to have a bit more of the natural “cratered” look of the actual moon in the night sky.
The solution for this customer was to add sterling silver 925 filings to luminous white Super-LumiNova paint before it had finished drying. The silver filings became embedded in the white paint as it hardened, and serve to make shadows and dark spots visible when the watch’s full moon glows at night. The silver filings also make the full moon reflect sunlight during the day!
One other special detail: the second hand is yellow, but the circle in the center of the second hand is green, to represent the planet earth (the ochs und junior moon phase display is astronomical). Our German color specialist Cador did a fantastic job making the edge between the two colors completely seamless.
